Does someone always have to be home while cleaning?

If you will not be home, please call to provide the information required to obtain access. You can provide us the keys, provide us with the access code or tell the doorman to give us access.

Will I get the same person or team every time?

We try very hard to have the same personnel to your home every time. Per your request we will send the same crew if you offer us arrival flexibility. Occasionally, due to illness or the like, an alternate team or maid will have to be substituted.

What if I miss my appointment?

There is a $40 fee for any appointments that have not been cancelled in advance. Upon your request we do offer reminders via phone or email.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that life does not always go as planned.  However, if it is necessary to cancel/postpone any scheduled cleaning, we ask that you please call the Sweep Home Chicago office at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled cleaning.  That will allow us ample time to make the necessary adjustments to our daily schedule.  If we do not receive 24 hours notice, a $40 fee will be assessed to the customers credit card, which will be required to book an appointment.

What if I am unhappy with the service I receive?

Then please call us. We will gladly listen to your complaints/concerns. We will do everything we can to fix the problem.

In fact, we are so confident in our cleaning services that we Guarantee them. Should an area of your home or office not be cleaned to satisfaction we will re-clean whatever it is that you aren’t happy with within 48-hours after you contact us. We will come out within 1-2 days to do the re-clean for free.

What if something is damaged during the service provided?

We treat your home with complete care and respect. However, should damage or breakage occur while we are cleaning, Sweep Home Chicago will make every effort to repair or if necessary, replace the item. When appropriate, insurance claims will be filed. We are fully bonded and insured so that should the unfortunate happen we have it taken care of.

Do I have to do anything before the cleaning?

In order to give you the greatest value, we ask you to take a few minutes the night before to pick up extraneous clothing, important documents, toys and other personal household items.

How far in advance do I need to schedule services?

We will try our best to fulfill your request of same day services, but 24 hours ahead of time is ideal.

Do we need to be there while the cleaning is going on?

We recommend for first time customers to be there if you can. It helps things go a little smoother just in case the cleaners have any questions. If you are not able to be there, then the cleaners will be able to figure it out. As for continuing customers you do not need to be there. Most people who set up continuing service give us a key or set up permission to enter through their building. This is something you need to be comfortable with. Keys are kept in the office in a secure lockbox when they are not being used on service days.

Are your employees pet friendly?

Most of our employees are fine with having pets around for the cleanings. There are a few employees that we have that are allergic to pets and they would obviously not send them. Bottom line is that we have plenty of options and can always find people to go who are fine with pets

Home much of a tip is customary?

A tip is not required, but is definitely appreciated. I would say about 50% of customers tip. Our employees make a regular wage, so they do not depend on tips. If you do not tip they will not be upset. If you do decide to tip 10-20% is a good tip.

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

Yes, we are. We also do full background and reference checks on all of our employees to make sure we have good, trustworthy employees in your home.

What is the difference between basic and deep cleaning?

Basic cleaning is a all around good surface cleaning concentrating on kitchen, bathrooms, floors and dusting. There is a set list of tasks that are done and is more than likely going to be set up as a flat rate. On deep cleaning we can do whatever the customer wants that is cleaning related. This cleaning will be set up for an hourly rate. Most of the time customers will set up to have all of the basic cleaning items + certain specifics that they want concentrated on.
